A Step by Step Tutorial (Part 3: Back Ground

So.......... This is the last part of my tutorial! Yay! I hope you find it useful and enjoy~!

Step 8:

I create a simple shadow to create depth on a layer underneath the colored image. I then add a two colored gradient underneath the shadow layer.

Step 9:

I then create clouds on another layer of the bg ( back ground) to create a light feel to the piece.

Step 10:

Then I create a pattern of rain drops and use a custom gradient to color them in.

Step 11:

I then create droplets of water pouring off of the umbrella the girl is holding and sign my art signature and create a water mark for the piece. Then Im done! :D Hope this was helpful to everyone!

A Step by Step Tutorial (Part 2): Coloring

So here is part 2 of my " Step by Step tutorial". As said before, the images are uneven in size, so I apologize again. Please enjoy~!

Step 5:

I import my image to Photoshop CS3 after creating the line art.

Step 6:

I then create the color scheme and color the base color of each category ( i.e: skin, eyes, coat, etc.) in separate layers. I created the hair using a custom gradient I made specifically for the girls hair, I wanted a very colorful feel to the illustration. The umbrella was colored using an installed gradient that is readily available in PhotoShop.

Step 7:

I then create shading and highlights in the piece when the basic coloring is completed. For this method of shading, the "Layer Lock Tool" is very useful, BUT I strongly suggest that you make every category in separate layers. Unless you want one category to have the same color of shading as another. If you want to make this as easy as possible, I suggest this method.

A Step by Step Tutorial (Part 1): Outlining

Hey Everyone! Long time no post ( again)! Anyways, This is a tutorial made by using the " Step by Step" format. The images do not have even sizes, Im sorry :( This is my first tutorial so I would love constructive criticism, I hope it helps. The programs I used are called Manga Studios 3.0 Debut and PhotoShop CS3.
Enjoy~!

Step 1:

I start by creating a ruff draft or outline in Manga Studios using the pencil tool. This gives an overview of movement in the illustration .

Step 2:

I then begin outlining the main character using an 0.7 sized pen tool ( also in Manga Studios) in a separate layer on top of the pencil layer. I add shadowing by using the fill tool.

Step 3:

I then create the umbrella using the curve and strait line tools. This way, I can create the idea of solidity to the umbrella by using such tools instead of a free hand pen tool. I then add more shadows.

Step 4:

I then delete the pencil layer underneath the main outline layer. This way, I am only left with crisp black lines that are ideal for digital coloring.

Hello~ Hello~! *Gero!* Wow! Been some time since I last posted here. I was experimenting with this piece because I have nothing better to do while I'm here....... in my room..... sick -.-'. My scanner is acting up so I cant scan anything right now! NOOOOOO~! *Gero* Its not working because I have to refill the ink cartridge and it wont let me do anything else on it until I do.... Sheesh. But on wards and up wards! I have some music videos here that I like becuase of the music so I'll just put the links here:
